After their impressive season-opening win over NAMS last week, the ATMS Bulldogs were home once again this time facing off against the Uwharrie Ridge Timberwolves.

ATMS received the ball to start the game and wasted no time finding the end zone. On the first play of the afternoon, Dominic Payne scored on a 50-yard run to put the Bulldogs on the board. ATMS tried for the two-point conversion but were turned away at the goal line. The Timberwolves went to work on offense and picked up a couple of yards on a run from Jonathan Kelly. An encroachment call on the defense gave Uwharrie Ridge their first first down of the game. Kelly had two more runs for the Timberwolves before the end of the quarter. After one complete quarter, ATMS led 6-0.

Uwharrie Ridge opened the second quarter with a pair of short runs before turning the ball over on downs. ATMS started their next drive with a short one-yard run from Jacob Hodges. Payne took the handoff on the next play and ran it 69-yards into the end zone, but a flag brought the back into ATMS territory. The Bulldogs did not quit as Payne picked up ten yards before scoring on a 60+ yard touchdown. The Bulldogs two-point conversion attempt was no good as they led 12-0. Uwharrie Ridge went back on offense to try and cut into the Bulldogs’ lead. The Timberwolves struggled to get the ball by the ATMS defense and eventually turned the ball over on downs after a fake punt attempt. The Bulldogs took over as Payne capped off the quarter with a 20-yard touchdown with six seconds left in the half. Riley Strickland found Brandon Campbell in the end zone to complete the two-point conversion giving the Bulldogs a 20-0 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs continued their dominance in the second half of play adding two more touchdowns to their total. ATMS picked up the win 36-0 over Uwharrie Ridge.
