Middle School football action go underway last week with one team posting two dominating wins. The ATMS Bulldogs have not given up a single point in their first two games of the season and have outscored both opponents by a combined score of 78-0. One Bulldogs has shown that ATMS may be the team to beat this season. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is ATMS’, Dominic Payne.

Payne has been the driving force behind the ATMS Bulldogs’ offense in their first two games of the season leading them to wins over NAMS and Uwharrie Ridge. Last week in the Bulldogs’ 42-0 win over NAMS, Payne torched the Comets for five touchdowns. He continued his strong play this week against Uwharrie Ridge scoring four touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 36-0 win. Through the first two games of the season, Payne has picked up 400 rushing yards, 150 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns. He will be the go-to player for the Bulldogs most of the season and will be a match-up nightmare for opposing teams. Although he is just a middle schooler, Payne has shown that he is going to do big things for football in the Trinity area in the years to come.

Congratulations to Dominic Payne on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week!”
