Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” Na’hiem Lilly

With last Friday’s game impacted by weather, teams were forced to play on Monday and it would be reasonable to think some teams and players may struggle due to the extra game. That was not the case with this week’s athlete of the week. The athlete of the week put in an incredible performance this week and is rightly deserving of the recognition. This week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week” is Randleman’s, Na’hiem Lilly.

Lilly, a sophomore running back, has anchored the Tigers’ offense during the first two games of the season. In the Tigers first game of the season last Friday and Monday, he finished with 216 rushing yards on 33 carries and four rushing touchdowns. He also added one tackle and a five-yard kickoff return. As he and the rest of the Tigers took the field this Friday against Southwestern Randolph they looked to be at the top of their despite playing on Monday. Lilly led the ground attack for the Tigers picking up 134 yards on 15 carries. He found the end zone three times on the ground with his longest touchdown run at 43 yards. He also picked up one kickoff return and a six-yard reception.

The Tigers and Lilly are off to a strong start to the season and are showing signs that they are the team to beat this season. If Lilly can keep up his level of play he will be an offensive nightmare for opposing teams this season.

Congratulations to Na’hiem Lilly on being named this week’s Mid-State Toyota “Athlete of the Week!”
