UCA Lady Eagles advance to round 2

The Lady Eagles of Uwharrie Charter extended their season with a 67-30 win over Columbia on the road on Tuesday. UCA led 26-5 after the first quarter before taking a 43-12 lead at the half. The Eagles outscored Columbia 12-10 in the third quarter for a 55-22 lead heading into the final quarter. Uwharrie Charter will travel to top-seeded Pamlico on Thursday, February 27th at 7:00 PM.

Lady Warriors upset J.F. Webb to advance

The Wheatmore Lady Warriors picked up a 49-40 win on the road at eighth seed J.F. Webb to advance to the second round of the 2A NCHSAAA State Basketball Playoffs on Tuesday. Wheatmore will travel to East Duplin on Thursday, February 27th at 7:00 PM.

ER’s season ends in round one

The Eastern Randolph Lady Wildcats saw their season come to an end on Tuesday when they fell 62-42 on the road at East Duplin in the first round of the 2A NCHSAA State Basketball Playoffs. The Lady Wildcats trailed East Duplin 23-19 at halftime.

Lady Patriots come up short in first round

The Lady Patriots of Providence Grove fell 78-75 on the road at Beddingfield on Tuesday in the first round of the 2A state basketball playoffs.

Lady Tigers headed to round two

The second-seeded Randleman Lady Tigers defeated North Johnston 42-23 at home on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the 2A state basketball playoffs. Randleman will host the winner of Hertford County and Richlands on Thursday, February 27th at 6:00 PM.

Lady Comets edged out in round one

The Asheboro Lady Blue Comets saw their season end heartbreakingly on Tuesday as they fell 55-54 on the road at Northern Guilford in the first round of the 3A state basketball playoffs. Asheboro led 33-19 at halftime before taking a 42-37 into the fourth quarter. The Comets were outscored 18-10 in the final quarter.

Randleman moves on to round two

The Randleman Tigers picked up a 54-38 win over South Lenoir in the first round of the 2A state basketball playoffs on Tuesday. The Tigers will host twelfth seeded Hertford County on Thursday, February 27th at 7:30 PM.

Warriors’ season ends early

The Wheatmore Warriors played their last game of the season on Tuesday when they fell 80-77 on the road at First Flight. Wheatmore led 23-15 after the first quarter before falling behind 43-39 at halftime.

Bulldogs fall on the road

The Trinity Bulldogs fell 55-48 on the road at Carrboro on Tuesday as their season came to an end. The game was tied 12-12 after the first quarter before the Bulldogs took a 27-18 lead at the half. Trinity led 38-32 heading into the fourth but was outscored 23-10 in the final quarter.

Blue Comets suffer loss in round one

The Asheboro Blue Comets had a tough outing on Tuesday as they fell 73-43 to third-seeded Freedom on the road. Asheboro trailed 35-23 at halftime.
