Game two of a varsity doubleheader featured the Randleman Tigers’ boys taking on the Eastern Randolph Wildcats at home on Friday. The Tigers and Wildcats have met once already this season back in December at the Courier-Tribune Christmas Invitational where the Tigers posted a 62-32 win. Coming into Friday’s game, the Tigers were 4-0 in conference play and 10-2 on the season, while the Wildcats were 1-3 in PAC-7 play and 5-9 overall.

Eastern Randolph took the early lead in this one with a bucket from Cade Snotherly. Randleman quickly took control with a three from Nate Cassidy and soon built a 9-2 lead. Kaleb Mitchell, Cassidy, and Nate Green each scored giving the Tigers their lead. Landon Loflin ended the run with a bucket and the Wildcats soon had the lead cut down to one before taking a 10-9 lead on a bucket from Brody Gardner. Robby Rich scored back to back bucket to put the Tigers back on top 13-10. A pair of free throws from Snotherly cut the lead to one before Randleman closed out the quarter with a 4-1 run. After one-quarter of play, the Tigers led 19-13.

The Wildcats once again took the first point of the quarter before the Tigers used a 13-3 run to break open the game. Cassidy, Na’heim Lilly, Dominick Poole, and Mitchell each scored for the Tigers, while Snotherly and Carter Moore scored for the Wildcats. Loflin ended the run with a free-throw before Snotherly scored on a fastbreak to cut the lead to ten. After a free-throw from Poole, Loflin and Delonte Glover scored four straight points to pull the Wildcats within four. A putback bucket from Poole and a breakaway score from Rich gave the Tigers a 35-27 lead at the half.

Gardner opened the third quarter with a bucket for the Wildcats, but after that is was all Randleman. The Tigers used an 18-0 run to take a commanding lead over the Wildcats. Mitchell scored six points in the run for the Tigers, while Cassidy and Connor Lineberry knocked down back to back threes. Glover ended the run for the Wildcats with a three-point play, but the Tigers answered right back with three points the old-fashioned way from Green. Lineberry drilled his second three of the night for the Tigers before Snotherly ended the quarter with a three of his own for the Wildcats to end the quarter. After three-quarters of play, Randleman led 59-35.

Snotherly opened the final quarter with his second straight three to cut the lead to twenty-one for the Wildcats. The Tigers outscored the Wildcats 3-1 at the line before Landon Collins drained a three for the Wildcats. Randleman answered with a 9-2 run that included a three from Mitchell to take a 71-44 lead over Eastern Randolph. The Wildcats picked up a pair of free throws from Glover before the Tigers got back to back buckets from Lineberry and Coby Price to take a 75-46 lead. The Wildcats outscored the Tigers 13-4 down the stretch, but it was not enough to overcome the large lead. Randleman withstood the late run for a 79-59 win.

Kaleb Mitchell and Nate Cassidy led the Tigers with 16 points each, while Dominick Poole finished with 11 points. Na’heim Lilly and Connor Lineberry each added eight points for the Tigers. For Eastern Randolph, Cade Snotherly led the way with 20 points. Landon Collins and Delonte Glover each chipped in 11 points for the Wildcats.
